About
The Experience
As one of the most remote tourist destinations in Tanzania, the Ruaha National Park is one of the least visited, giving an exclusive feel with low numbers of game vehicle traffic and a step back in time to when nature was immaculate. Choose from a 4x4 Safari Experience with personal guide visiting a wide range of local landscapes and wildlife to discover elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, giraffe and zebra, or a Walking Safari to fully immerse in the surrounding nature. For the more experienced explorer, a Tracking Safari inspired by past hunting techniques gets up close with lion and elephant and a day-long safari trip observes the impressive buffalo herds in central Ruaha. A Night Safari is an exciting time to observe nocturnal porcupine, bush baby, the white-tailed mongoose and even the elusive aardvark. From 15th June to 31st October guests can glide over the savannah in a new hot air balloon experience leaving from Jongomero. There are not many naturally wild places like this left in our world.

The Dining
Dining at Laba Jongomero Camp is an exceptional experience that reflects the camp’s commitment to quality and authenticity. The camp’s culinary team prepares a variety of dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, often inspired by traditional Tanzanian cuisine. Meals are a celebration of flavors and are designed to complement the day’s safari activities.
Guests can enjoy breakfast in the bush, surrounded by the sounds of the waking wilderness, or opt for a more relaxed morning meal on the camp’s terrace. Lunches are typically served al fresco, under the shade of century-old trees, offering a cool retreat during the heat of the day. The menu features a mix of hearty salads, grilled meats, and fresh vegetables, providing nourishment for the afternoon’s adventures.
Dinner is a more formal affair, often served in the camp’s chic dining room or under the stars in a private, romantic setting. The evening meal is a multi-course experience, with dishes that highlight the rich culinary heritage of the region, such as spiced curries, tender game meats, and fresh fish from the nearby rivers. The camp also offers a selection of fine wines and spirits, perfect for enjoying a sundowner by the campfire or on the terrace overlooking the river. Special dietary needs are easily accommodated, ensuring that every guest has a delightful dining experience.
