About
COMO Uma Paro
Paro Valley, Bhutan
Perched on a 38-acre blue pine-covered hill overlooking the town of Paro, COMO Uma Paro offers a tranquil mountain escape in one of Bhutan’s main cultural centers. The resort, designed by architect Cheong Yew Kwan and local Bhutanese artisans, embodies the essence of a traditional Bhutanese village with its use of stone, wood, and tiles crafted using age-old techniques.
The property features 20 rooms and nine villas, including a two-bedroom COMO Villa. Each villa is thoughtfully positioned amidst the natural landscape, surrounded by azaleas, rhododendrons, and hydrangeas, creating a harmonious, organic feel.
The main building, once the home of a Bhutanese nobleman, is the heart of the resort, adorned with climbing roses and magnolias. COMO Uma Paro is dedicated to sustainable practices, cultivating wildflower meadows, organic gardens, and mixed-species woodlands, attracting diverse birdlife and enhancing the existing blue pine forest.
